Frequently Asked Questions

Are there still spots available for 2025 even though I didn’t attend open house?

Yes! Spots are available in all sections.

What is the 2025 production?

We'll be announcing it at the upcoming January camp!

What is the audition process?

At our camps, our musical and visual staff will evaluate members based on their experience and  capability to learn and improve upon what they are being asked to perform.

Other factors include level of fitness, attendance, adherence to the corps's core values as described in our  Member Policy book, and the ability to meet their financial obligations.

How much does it cost?

The base tuition for the season is $2,400.

Are there opportunities for fundraising or tuition assistance?

Yes. Fundraising opportunities are presented throughout the year. Members will be made aware of these opportunities as they come up. There are also referral discounts for members that successfully recruit new members, and family discounts for multiple people in the same family marching together.

Many members are able to offset most or all of their tuition through fundraising and sponsorships from family, friends and local businesses.

How often are rehearsals?

We are fortunate to have a lot of staff and members involved in indoor programs, so  during the winter season, rehearsals will be on Sundays only from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Starting at the end of April and through the end of the competitive season in the middle of  August, rehearsals run every weekend from Saturday at 8:00 a.m. through Sunday at 4:00  pm (of course we’ll let you sleep 😊). Friday nights may be added. Once we know more about that, we will confirm well in advance.

Are members fed?

Meals will be provided for shows on the road.

Meals are not typically provided at rehearsals. A weekend schedule will be provided before every camp, and we will notify members ahead of time if meals are being provided.

If we are not feeding  the corps, we suggest bringing meals. It’s more cost-effective and, more importantly, a  healthier option; however, food establishments are typically near our rehearsal facilities, making it easy to get meals.

Do you provide housing?

Housing will be provided when we travel to regular-season shows and to Indianapolis,  Indiana, for Championships.

Our admin team will do our best to work with members who  feel they may need housing assistance, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to  find housing for all. We are working on something for the summer months and will update you as we make progress.

Do members need to attend all rehearsals?

Members are expected to attend every rehearsal. During the winter, we understand that scholastic-based activities can and should take priority. Members are expected to  communicate any conflict ahead of time to staff. Once school is out, we expect members to honor their commitment and make Fusion Core the priority.

If you are traveling long distances, please be sure to check weather and traffic reports each morning to  confirm whether or not you’ll need extra time to get to rehearsal. You will be able to find the contact info for the admin and staff on BAND, and you should always be communicating if you’re running late. We will worry if you don’t show up on time.

If needed,  you and your caption head will work out a plan to address any absences that you will face for Friday night rehearsals if they are scheduled.

It is so important that you attend all rehearsals and arrive on time. Our success is dependent on each and every one of you.

How do we communicate with members?

We use three services for communicating with members:

  • BAND, a messaging app that will be the primary means of communicating with members, such as posting rehearsal information, sharing music and drill, doing polls and questionnaires, and assigning video assignments

  • Remind, a text message-based service for communicating during urgent situations and emergencies

  • Email, for financial invoices and other private communication

We also use the website Active Camp for signing up for camps and paying tuition invoices.

Can parents watch rehearsals?

Yes. Parents are encouraged to stay to watch and help if needed.

Are there age restrictions?

DCI All-Age is an all-age activity.  There is no upper age limit.

Members 14 and younger can participate, but they will need to have a parent on site, including staying at housing units when provided.

Can parents be involved in corps activities?

YES! Parents are encouraged to sign up to volunteer to assist the corps  administration. We are always looking for additional hands to help with feeding the corps, driving trucks, fitting uniforms, building props, running errands, etc.

Email our support coordinator  Stephanie for more information on how you can help!

Can parents and guardians be included in communications?

Parents and guardians will have their own BAND page and are encouraged to provide the admin with an email address and phone number to receive updates/messages.

Parents and guardians of children under 18 are required to provide their contact information and consent in order for their child to participate.

Who can I reach out to if I have additional questions?

You may contact us at info@fusioncore.org or email the Director at  holly.marino@fusioncore.org.

Feel free to ask anything you want to know. The more you know, the better experience you will have!
